Request a refund.

So, you'd like to refund iTunes purchases?

Welcome to the information hub on how to refund a purchase made with Apple.

I've listed a few notices regarding this page that I think you should know.

  • Refunds can only be requested and issued for purchases made within a 90-day period

You will not be eligible to refund a purchase outside of a 90-day period. Varying on the purchase, it can be limited to 14 days.

  • The iTunes refund hub is the official refund hub by Apple

No third party can access your information along the way. Your bank and Apple are the only parties that are able to handle or see your data.

  • Purchases may not appear on the website instantly

Purchases typically appear on the iTunes refund hub a day after they were made. If you purchase was only just made, give it up to a day to appear on the page.

  • Two-step authentication prompts represent your general location

The login attempt is you. If you've enabled two-step, you may encounter a new login-location prompt. It's likely your ISP or device settings have altered your location automatically, therefore the location represented in the authorisation tab is likely not going to be accurate, but rather a large nearby city. If you're not comfortable with this login prompt, you're welcome to contact Apple directly and request to refund on purchases you'd like to cancel.

  • How much will be refunded?

The entire amount you paid for the purchase.

  • Where are my refunded funds?

You can find your refunded balance where the purchase initially took the money from. Allowance imported from gift cards will remain in your iTunes account balance.

  • How long does the refund take?

The refund process generally takes two days, but can take up to fourteen days.

  • It's been longer than 14 days since I requested the refund and I have not received my money

If more than two weeks have passed and you still do not possess your funds, anywhere, then contact Apple Support explaining the full situation.

  • Can I refund a purchase twice?

A refund cannot be issued twice for the same product. Though, repeatable purchases, such as in-game currencies are exempt from this rule.
